SYLVANIA -- Ohio's Secretary of State is coming out strong in support of Issue One, the measure that would ban same-sex marriage. Kenneth Blackwell spoke to an energized crowd at the Cathedral of Praise Tuesday night.
Blackwell said it's time for people of God to take a stand. He even drew a comparison between same-sex couples and farm animals. "I don't know how many of you have a farming background but I can tell you right now that notion even defies barnyard logic ... the barnyard knows better," said Blackwell referring to the idea of same-sex marriage.
Blackwell was joined by Pastor Rod Parsley, president of The Center for Moral Clarity. The two men are traveling across the state trying to rally support for Issue One. News 11 contacted Secretary Blackwell's office today for further explanation. His press secretary issued the following statement on Blackwell's behalf: "Part of the function of marriage is to reproduce the human race and same-sex marriage cannot carry out that function."

Both candidates are pretty much against gay marraige, it isnt going to pass in Ohio.
You'll probably get the repeal of that issue, but ifg you are simply saying it's just republicans that are against gay marraige YOU ARE FLAT OUT WRONG!

Homosexuals are not a race, they are not a religion, they are not a nationality, they are not a sex.
It seems inappropriate for a Secretary of State, the person responsible for administering election laws, to be mouthing off about political issues. Of course they have 1st amendment rights and it would be impossible to find someone that high up in politics that isn't partisan, but to keep the highest standard of propriety, seems like they should keep their traps shut. I'd have had a little less of a problem with Florida in the last election if Katherine Harris hadn't been head of Bush's election committee while also acting as Secretary of State. I dunno!
As a heterosexual single male, it really doesnt have any bearing on my life at all.
Like I've said before, I don't care about it. I'm not some activist or something. I don't have any gay friends or anything like that so it's kinda a non-issue to me.
But, I guess I can see why the homosexual population is trying to get it. Although a civil union (since there can be no procreation without outside help of the opposite sex) is pretty much the same thing in my opinion.
And if you win the right to marry another man what will you be demanding next, legalization of kiddie porn? I have found that people like you, reason, are never satisfied with extracting special priviledges, you always want something more. And you whine when society as a whole says "no". Again I say, move to San Francisco. You might find more acceptance there and come to terms with your self-loathing.
